I am a writer, photographer, outdoorsman, editor, bicyclist, critic, and world traveler presently leading a relatively wholesome existence in Washington, DC. This weblog is mostly a collection of expositions on subjects that have captured my attention and labor over the years. Things like using mobile phones for global development, defending free expression on the web, and leveraging technology to bridge social divides. There are also a lot of reflections and observations on my travels, particularly through the Pacific littoral.
I am originally from Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, I hold a BA from Tufts University and an MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School, and I make award-winning chili. If you’re wondering what the W stands for, you can contact me via e-mail at sam [at] swdupont [dot] com.
